QUESTIONS FROM COUPLES

❤️QUESTIONS FROM COUPLES❤️

🙋‍♀️QST: I was told that we have to get our registration (NOIM- Notice of Intention to MARRY) in one month prior to our wedding date have you sent ours in yet?

✍️ANS: A NOIM Must be filled and your Signatures witnessed by your CELEBRANT or an AUTHORISED PERSON one calendar month prior to your wedding date along with the required identification and termination of marriage if applicable.

Calendar months vary so ask your CELEBRANT the exact date you need to get it witnessed and signed to be safe.

They will most likely tell you anyway especially if it's getting close to cut off 👍👍

Once Signed give it to your Celebrant.

This is all you have to do to be"registered" to marry.🍾🍾

All the necessary paperwork will then be sent to BDM- Births, Deaths and Marriages within 14 days after you say "I DO" to REGISTER you both as Married.

WOOP WOOP‼️

You will be contacted by BDM once it has been accepted if you are wanting to purchase the Official Marriage Certificate for legal reasons such as: Changing your name on all your documents.

There are special circumstances that can deem a SHORTENING OF TIME - Marrying in less then the one month required if needed but there must be a very good reason.

If you think this is you then talk to your CELEBRANT to seek further assistance. They are always more than happy to help. ❌⭕️

✍️AUTHORISED PERSONS IN AUSTRALIA WHO CAN WITNESS AND SIGN YOUR NOIM

“an authorized celebrant, a Commissioner for Declarations, a justice of the peace, a barrister or solicitor, a legally qualified medical practitioner, or a member of the federal police or state or territory police.”

✍️ IF YOU ARE OVERSEAS

“if a party signs the notice outside Australia – an Australian Diplomatic officer, an Australian Consular Officer, an employee of the Commonwealth authorized under paragraph 3 © of the Consular Fees Act 1955, an employee of the Australian Trade Commission authorized under paragraph 3 (d) of the Consular Fees Act 1955 or a notary public.”

Always remember if you get stuck on anything just give your Celebrant a tingle get the answer from the horse's Mouth 🐴🐴 and not the grapevine🍇🍇🍇 to save you time and carpal tunnel from filling out a Gazillion forms 😂🤣
